Test the Nation: Watch Your Language, Sunday September 9 at 8:00p EST on CBC

Tune in to Canada's CBC Sunday Sep 9 for Test the Nation: Watch Your Language! And we're not just saying that to heap shameless promotion on our oh-so-lonely Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. They've got a good thing going here and you might spot Smack's Lee Dale and Mike Fragomeni bash wits with the best and brightest minds in Canada.

Lee and Mike may have been passed off as Ad Writers, but that won't stop these great marketing minds from stretching their intellectual muscle in a battle to become Canada's most linguistically gifted demographic. And what are those competing demographics? Well, of course, Ad Writers - including high ranking brains from Smack, BBDO, Cundari and more - but there are also Celebrities, Romance Novalists, English Teachers, Fraternities and Sororities, Word Gamers and Comedians.

So, check out CBC's Test the Nation site, where you can learn more about the competitors, the format, test your own language prowess with the Mental Gym games, and best of all, play along while you watch with the downloadable scorecard. Hope you tune in!

Smack Inc has moved!

Smack Inc staff and clients alike are finally breathing a long awaited sigh of contentment as the office officially moved to Suite 310B at 219 Dufferin St in the heart of Liberty Village. Account Planner Mike Fragomeni had this to say about the move, "Yeah, I think we're all enjoying this new sense freedom. It's nice to stretch your legs, and arms for that matter, and not knock a row of books off a shelf or put a foot through a G5 or something." Beyond the eclectic brick and beam decor and 20 foot ceilings, the new 3,000 square foot space provides Smack with the ability to spread its wings, and offer their services to more businesses in need. If you know of a business in need, please let them know, we're here to help.

Make poverty history.

Between Live8, the G8 Summit, celebrities and musicians, media, journalists and blogs, everyone's talking about making poverty history. Are we jumping on the bandwagon? Damn right. Now is the time.

There's momentum now. An opportunity to tip the cause beyond mainstream awareness towards global action. We feel we can help spread the word and hopefully encourage action in the process.

If you're just as interested in supporting the fight against global poverty, send us your info and we'll send you a wristband from www.makepovertyhistory.ca. We'll also post your name on our site as a sign of your support and downright coolness (unless you don't want us to). Like all great communities, there's no fun in being modest and no benefit in being quiet. And this is one cause that needs to be heard loud and clear.
